ABOUT CRYSTAL CREEK FARM

In 2018 we purchased our first Nigerian Dwarf goats and fell in love with their friendly temperament, easy upkeep, and beautiful coloration. As we learned more, the more we wanted to play a part in the betterment of this breed. So we began our journey.

We have a small herd of ADGA registered Nigerian Dwarf goats, with genetics from all over the United States, in southwest Missouri. Our goal is to create the best pet or breeding stock for your family. With the wide variety within our herd we have something for everyone.

Dairy Goats and Life-Long Pets

Nigerian Dwarfs can be used for many uses, these include, companionship, breeding, and milking. Their milk is higher in butterfat at 6-10% compared to other goats who have the maximum of 5%. Almost all of our herd comes out of strong milking lines so if you are wanting milk or good mothering goats your in the right place. If you are wanting a companion animal or an amazing family pet we offer wethers, castrated males, that will fit into any family. Many of our kids also make great breeding stock if you are interested in strengthening your herd.

Why Nigerian Dwarfs?

One of the things that drew us toward Nigerian Dwarfs is their smaller size making them more manageable than other breeds of goats. They also have very sweet and gentle dispositions. As well as a wide variety of breath taking colors. When we first entered into the wonderful world of goats, we only planned on having pets, but after learning more we decided to do our part in expanding this incredible breed. With low maintenance and their small stature, they make them very manageable for small or large scale farms. The versatility of these small goats is one of the many reason we raise them.

Nigerian Dwarf Care

Nigerian dwarf goats are herd animals, this means that they cannot be kept by themselves. You must have at least two Nigerian dwarfs. If you are looking for a pet than wethers, castrated males, are a great choice! I recommend that if you decided to have just one buck that you also get a wether to keep him company. I feed my goats Grow and Show goat feed, that is custom made by a local feed mill. They also have access to prairie hay and are kept on pasture year round, where they can roam and graze. Free choice mineral is always available.
